Short Wave
Description
Band fronted by Andrew Davis active between late 2003 and early 2006.
Originally with Neil Hodge and Jim Beaulieu, briefly with Danielle Mossman and Justin (? friend from URI), before kicking into 'phase one' in the summer of 2004 with Neil Hodge and Greg Frechette. As a power trio the group played a handful of shows in Warwick and Providence in the summer of 2004, and recorded extensively in their home studio - the best of this material was released as 'the Short Wave EP' on Halloween 2004.
When Neil and Greg returned to school in the fall the line-up entered 'phase two' with to Erin LaNinfa on bass. With Erin in the band both Neil Hodge and Brian Welesko graciously sat in on drums until a permanent drummer was found. Taiyo Johnson officially joined in March 2005. The 'phase two' trio recorded the 'Burned Response' EP in their home studio and began work on a 24-track album at Oxbow Studio in June 2005, however it was never completed and the masters have since been lost (although rough mixes exist in digital format).
Andy transferred from URI to Columbia College in Chicago, which effectively put an end to the band in early 2006. Having lost touch with Taiyo in the fall of 2005, a last couple recording sessions was held in early 2006 which featured an extended line-up with Brian Welesko on drums, Bryan Cole on second guitar, Neil Hodge on RMI electric piano and Erin LaNinfa on bass. These sessions have never been released and are believed to be lost or incomplete.
A final recording session with Davis and Welesko occurred on their 'spring break' in 2006 before the group finally ended (to be revived as Green Bean later in the year).
Short Wave self-release two EPs 'Short Wave EP' in 2004 and 'Burned Repsonse' in 2005.
